The Two-in-One Polishing Slurry for Fiber Optic Connector End-Faces is a new type of polishing consumable specifically designed for polishing the end-faces of fiber optic connectors, particularly MPO/MT multi-fiber connectors. It combines the final two steps of the traditional polishing process — fiber protrusion and final polishing — into a single step, thereby simplifying the process, replacing imported precision polishing slurries, and reducing costs while improving efficiency.

This product employs a unique formulation technology that uniformly disperses selected nano-scale abrasives and functional additives to form a stable suspension system, enabling high-efficiency polishing of the fiber ferrule end-face in a single process step.

Test Data Description

A 3D white-light interferometer for fiber optic end-faces was used to perform sampling inspection of the end-face topography on 10 specimens. The inspection covered key geometric parameters — Fiber Height (H), Apex Offset (HA), Average Fiber Height Difference, Core Radius of Curvature (RF), and Core Dip (CD) — and was evaluated against the IEC 61300-3-47 industry standard:

  1. All geometric parameters are compliant and well-controlled, with minimal variation and excellent consistency and repeatability.

  2. Precise core centering, a uniformly formed spherical end-face profile, extremely low core dip, and nanometer-scale flatness within specification.

  3. The end-face is free of scratches, edge chipping, hazing, and other defects, exhibiting a good mirror-like surface finish.

  4. The results validate that the polishing slurry provides uniform material removal with controllable removal amount, ensuring low insertion loss and high return loss performance for fiber interconnections. The overall polishing precision is high, process stability is excellent, and the comprehensive application results are outstanding.
